AAI: Animal Assisted Interventions

Animal-assisted interventions are goal-oriented and structured interventions that intentionally incorporate animals in health, education, and human service for the purpose of therapeutic gains and improved health and wellness. The animal herein offers an integral role to the targets and programming of the client at hand. The animal can be but is not limited to: horses, dogs, cats, goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, and rabbits.

BIP: Behavior Intervention Plans

A behavioral intervention plan is a plan that is based on the results of a functional behavioral assessment (FBA) and, at a minimum, includes a description of the problem behavior, global and specific hypotheses as to why the problem behavior occurs and intervention strategies that include positive behavioral supports and services to address the behavior. Behaviors are addressed through the evidence-based of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

"Our perfect companions never have fewer than four feet."

-Gabrielle Colette

Wait, what is ABA?

Applied behavior analysis, also called behavioral engineering, is a scientific technique concerned with applying empirical approaches based upon the principles of respondent and operant conditioning to change behavior of social significance to benefit the life of the individual.
